Extraordinary Teen Prodigy Chef: Greg Grossman

Meet THNKR’S latest prodigy, Greg Grossman. He started working in kitchens at age 8, and catering high-end parties and charity events at age 12. He has cooked in over 40 restaurants alongside some of the greatest chefs, and started his own culinary development company — all by 17th birthday! Greg also finds time to give back and prides himself on helping charitable organizations which focus on the needs of children. In this episode of Prodigies, Greg creates and prepares an elaborate 1920′s Prohibition-era New York themed 7-course tasting menu for a top restaurateur and his team. If all goes well, Greg will partner with them in a new restaurant venture. Betty’s Lunch at Regatta Seafood Grille with Rick, Chelsea, and Carter

In this video, Betty has lunch with her family at Regatta Seafood Grille in Lexington, Kentucky. Rick, my husband, Chelsea, my daughter, and Carter, my grandson accompanied me. The food was great! I had a Loaded Baked Potato and a Half-Club Sandwich with Honey-Mustard Dressing; Rick had a Shrimp Po’ Boy Sandwich with French Fries and Coleslaw; and Chelsea had Chef’s Salad with Ranch Dressing. Carter had one of the delicious Biscuits that were served with Honey Butter. After lunch, we fed the ducks and goldfish in the lake that adjoins the restaurant. We had a wonderful time at Regatta Seafood Grille! I hope you can visit it sometime! –Betty :)

Betty’s Peanut Butter Bonbons

In this video, Betty demonstrates how to make Peanut Butter Bonbons. These are a delectable blend of peanut butter, butter, confectioner’s sugar, and Rice Krispies cereal, made into balls and dipped it melted semi-sweet chocolate! Mmmm! Ingredients: 1 cup smooth peanut butter ¼ cup butter, softened to room temperature ½ pound confectioner’s sugar 2 to 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal 12 ounces semisweet chocolate, melted and cooled slightly paraffin (optional; 1 ounce for 12 ounces of chocolate) In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup peanut butter, ¼ cup softened butter, ½ pound confectioner’s sugar, and 2 to 3 cups Rice Krispies cereal. Mix well. Roll by hand into 1-inch balls. Chill or freeze. Dip in melted chocolate and place on waxed paper. When set, move Peanut Butter Bon Bons to nice serving plate. These will be great adults and children for the upcoming holiday season. You can store them in the refrigerator or freezer. Enjoy! –Betty 

Pepperoni Pizza Puffs – Lynn’s Recipes

Pepperoni Pizza Puffs A great afternoon snack for children or anyone. This can also be used as an appetizer. Serve with pizza sauce for dipping. Adapted from Rachael Ray and Pinterest. ¾ cup all purpose flour ¾ teaspoon baking powder 1 Tablespoon Italian seasoning Pinch of salt Pinch of red pepper flakes ¾ cup whole milk 1 egg, lightly beaten 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese 1 cup cubed pepperoni ½ cup pizza sauce, either homemade or store bought, your preference Preheat oven to 375°. Grease 2 mini muffin pans that have 12 in each pan for a total of 24. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, Italian seasoning, salt and red pepper flakes. Whisk in the milk and egg. Stir in the mozzarella, Parmesan and pepperoni. Let the batter stand for 10 minutes. Stir the batter and divide among the mini muffin pans. Bake until puffed and golden for 20-25 minutes. Heat the pizza sauce until warmed and serve with the pizza puffs for a dipping sauce. twitter.com www.facebook.com
